Folding a Life-sized dolphin

I was commissioned to fold a life-sized dolphin by a compamy that produces pension fund literature. The dolphin and I were going to be displayed at 2 pensions conferences, one at the SECC Glasgow and  the other at Excel London.

Click here to see how I adhered to the fire regulations at both venues

This was the sheet of paper I started with.

It was the proportions of a lengthwise half of a ISO 216 rectangle (1xroot2) 11.2 Mts long!!

I started folding...

The tail is complete.

Getting inside the model to sort out flaps.

The dolphin is complete and now needs to be hung up in its final position.

Here I am assisting myself to get the dolphin positioned correctly.

Inside the dolphin are a number of bamboo canes for support.

The dolphin in situ and yours truly performing for the visitors to the conference.

I was teaching visitors how to fold the Talking Fish

As I am sure you are aware, paper is flammable. It ignites and burns easily. There is a solution.

Most of the stations on the system have a resident population of mice. These rodents live in the walls and scurry about the corridors and platforms when it is quiet. They survive, and indeed thrive, by taking advantage of the vast amounts of litter that the humans casually throw away.
